Mike StricklandMike Strickland has more than 30 years of experience in banking, insurance, and technology related ­fields. Currently he is Senior Manager of Wheatland Advisors, a subsidiary of Country Club Bank, a $1.3 billion community bank headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mike founded Wheatland Advisors as a separate company early in 2011, and was appointed to the top leadership position later that year. Wheatland Advisors’ focus is to help community banks enhance customer loyalty and increase their fee income by providing value-added products and services to the customer relationship.

Currently Mike is a national Board Member of the American Bankers Insurance Association, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association. He holds a Life and Health license and a Property and Casualty license.

Mike is recognized as a speaker at bank functions and as publisher of educational articles on bank customer experiences and strategies to increase service and fee income. In 2015 he and Wheatland Advisors won a Silver Award from the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association for an educational email campaign.

In 2015 Mike also hosted a CEO Forum bringing together community bank CEOs and life insurance executives to explore how the insurance industry can support community bank e‑orts to help protect their customers and provide for future generations.

Previously Mike gained nearly two decades of experience as President of Individual Assurance Company in Overland Park, Kansas, which he led to become a major national provider of bank-offered loan insurance products.

Mike began his career in 1980 at NCR Corporation in Spring­field, Missouri. In 1986 he joined CalComp, a division of Lockheed, where he served in sales management roles and rose to become Director of International Product Management for the European and Asia Paci­fic subsidiaries.

In 1993 he joined IAC Group in Kansas City, Missouri, and served as President until 2010. At IAC, Mike built an organization that helped more than 500 ­financial institutions and their 10,000 institutional employees serve their customers with high quality insurance products.

Mike holds a bachelor of science degree in ­finance from Missouri State University in Spring­field. He also served on the national board of the Consumer Credit Industry Association.
